What is floatation therapy?
Floatation therapy is a form of relaxation & wellness treatment which involves floating in a pod filled with Epsom salt and body temperature water. The high salt content in the water allows you to float effortlessly on the surface, creating a sensation of weightlessness. This therapy is often used for stress reduction, pain relief, insomnia, muscle recovery, enhanced creativity/problem solving and mindfulness/meditation.
The Benefits

Floating can really help with the discomfort commonly experienced during pregnancy, especially in late-term pregnancy. The dense magnesium water is set to body temperature and helps with inflammation & swelling. It is safe to float all the way up to 37 weeks.

Floating helps you mentally & physically de-stress. This makes it easier for the brain to downshift from alpha brainwaves to theta brainwaves. Theta brainwaves are the gateway to sleep.

While floating, your parasympatheic nervous system is activated, which slows the heart rate and helps us ease into relaxation mode. Floating can also lower cortisol levels. Cortisol (a a stress hormone) can contribute towards depression. In fact, research has shown the benefits of float therapy can alleviate PTSD symptoms!

While floating, your muscles loosen and blood flows more freely into all parts of your body - this helps remove built up toxins, which in turn encourages healing. When your body relaxes, your mind relaxes too and this will encourage better sleep and improve mental health.

Float therapy can help reduce inflammation in your muscles and joints. Clients with fibromyalgia, arthritis and sciatica really feel the benefit of floating. Floating can also speed up the healing process of sprains and broken bones, sometimes twice as fast as without using float therapy.
